(G)I-DLE Kicks Off the New Year with Strong Sales, Tops Ktown4u Weekly Chart

(By Hyunsook Kim, MHN Sports) K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE has added another milestone to their impressive record as they kick off the new year.  

The global entertainment platform Ktown4u, which tracks album sales worldwide, announced its weekly chart for the period from December 30, 2023, to January 5, 2024. According to the data, (G)I-DLE’s seventh mini-album 'I SWAY' took the top spot with 3,340 copies sold during this period.  

Released in July 2023, 'I SWAY' captures the essence of summer through its title, symbolizing the swaying rhythm of refreshing ocean breezes, waves, and vibrant music. The album seamlessly blends these elements, inviting listeners to revel in the fleeting moments of the season.  

The mini-album features four tracks: the title track 'Klaxon' as well as 'Last Forever', 'Bloom' and 'Neverland'. Notably, (G)I-DLE members participated in the songwriting and composition of all tracks, showcasing their musical artistry.  

Upon its release, 'I SWAY' achieved an impressive initial week sales record of 1,026,973 copies, making it the group’s third consecutive million-seller album following their sixth mini-album 'I Feel' and their second full-length album '2'.

The album’s success extended to music shows as well, earning the group a "Triple Crown" with three consecutive wins on SBS's 'Inkigayo'.

In addition, (G)I-DLE delighted fans last November during the 'Melon Music Awards 2024' (MMA 2024) by announcing the renewal of their contracts as a full group, securing their future together.
